Competition Coach Information

Competition Coach

  • Conducts group and individual coaching and training sessions to improve the development of athletes at Zone and State level
  • Develops athlete training programs leading athletes from Zone to State to National level
  • Is able to deliver Club Coach courses and assess Club Coaches
  • When coupled with assessor qualifications able to assess other Competition Coaches

You will need to have been a Club Coach for a minimum of two (2) years. This time frame may be reconsidered if recognised prior learning (RPL) and proficiency can be proven.

Contact your State secretary or State Coaching Director/Coordinator for the next available Competition Coaching course in your state.

The ACTA National Coaching Director holds Competition Coach courses as required in each State or Territory.

The course is usually over two (2) days, however additional practical competency completion is also required.

Once accredited with the Australian Sports Commission, you will be registered as a Competition Coach for four (4) years. You will be supplied with a wallet size Identification card with your details.

Recognised Prior Learning (RPL)

If you are an experienced Club Coach and are able to prove that you can meet the list of competencies then you may be eligible for RPL. There is an RPL form and the competencies on the form need to be achieved and evidence provided. Evidence can be written, video, photos, evaluations and firect observation by an Assessor.

Renewal

When four (4) years are due to expire you will need to be re-assessed. Once assessment has been completed successfully, you will be issed with a new identification card for the next four (4) years.
